2025 started off horribly. I caught COVID 2024 New Year’s Eve and slept my sick self into 2025 New Year’s Day. When I opened my eyes, sick as a dog, I dragged myself to the ER. Once the amazing doctors did their thing, I learned that I had COVID and bronchitis. Yay, Kisha, you got a one-two punch!

From there, my year had so many lows that I thought I must have broken a mirror and that seven years’ bad luck was in my future.

Not everything was bad. My writing was picking up, especially in the area of my serial stories. I decided to change careers. That path was thorny as all get out but finally two weeks ago, light shone through I got to start my training for this new area of my life.

I can say as I sit here watching the new year approach that I’m determined to make 2026 an amazing year, not only on the personal side, but also on the writing side. Check out my 2026 writing goals post tomorrow.
