Inspiration: Inkitt Writing Contest – Ivy League and Secrets

I stumbled across this contest a little bit on the late side, but I enjoy a challenge. I’ve always wanted to write a boarding school story, and this is the perfect time to experiment.

Because my main writing genres are fantasy, science fiction, and paranormal romance, my books are usually in one of those genres. Sometimes, I mix them to get the story I want. Occasionally, other genres such as thrillers get thrown into the mix, like my novel Dream Miner.

What genres am I mixing for Secrets Learned?
Fantasy, science fiction (dystopian), and paranormal romance. I figured, why not? This story will allow me to tell a tale that blends my favorite parts of these genres into one story.

What boarding school elements am I using?
Inkitt suggested a couple of different elements for the story. Again, I like to combine ideas to tell the story I wanted. I chose to use the rivals to lovers & the hidden royalty elements.

Who are the main characters?
MC/ML: Faysal Angelo, age 19
FL: Enola Carroll, age 19

What can the readers expect from this story?
Romance, intrigue, family drama, and more

This story does contain content warnings, so make sure you read them before diving into the story.

Where did the title come from?
As crazy as this sounds, the title came from combining two potential title suggestions from my students.

Intrigued? Check out the blurb, then run, not walk, to the story.

What do you do when the past you tried to avoid won’t let you go? Do you run from it?

What if your destined future is not the one you want? Do you embrace it?

If you’re Enola and Faysal, you pick option three: Do whatever the hell you want!

Where can you read this story?
Inkitt, the platform that has most of my serials on it at the moment.
